Your choice

The choice applies to this browser on the tools website. Turning analytics off stops future analytics from the tools and removes its learning identifier and accessible GA cookies. It does not delete records already received, clear your practice history, or change your choices on the separate Kajabi website. Analytics are enabled by default. Clearing browser storage resets the setting to on. Existing saved opt-outs continue to be honoured.

What is stored and why

Local settings and practice history

Some tools remember preferences, pinned tunings, results or progress in your browser’s local storage. These records are device/browser-specific and may be lost if you clear site data. No account synchronisation or backup is promised. You can remove them using your browser’s site-data controls.

Optional learning statistics

When enabled, the tools send visits, active time, selected learning context, exercise answers, correctness, response times and completion signals to our hosted learning service. A random token persists in your browser; it is sent to the service and hashed before database storage so returning browsers can be recognised. This is a pseudonymous browser identifier, not a verified person or a hardware fingerprint. Some older fretboard result records do not have a linked identifier.

Optional Google Analytics

When enabled, Google receives page and interaction events, sources and device information. GA uses cookies; Google can process network information such as IP addresses to provide its service. The tools send clean page URLs without query strings/fragments; campaign parameters can be used for acquisition reporting. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, learning tokens, raw exercise answers or audio to GA. Advertising storage and personalisation are disabled in the tools’ tag.

Hosting and delivery

OpenAI Sites/Cloudflare hosts the tools and learning database; Google provides GA. Infrastructure providers receive network requests and may maintain operational logs. Their processing can occur outside your country. Kajabi operates the linked marketing/course website.

Access and retention

The private Observatory is restricted to the owner and presents aggregate learning and GA reports. GA event/user-data retention is set to 14 months; aggregate reports may remain available longer. Local records remain until you clear them. The custom learning database currently has no automatic deletion schedule; it retains historical learning records. We do not claim that clearing your browser deletes server history.

For a privacy or deletion request, contact Reuben using the form below. Describe the tool and approximate dates without sending sensitive information. Because names and emails are not attached to learning records, locating a particular browser’s past activity may not be possible from your name alone.

Microphone and sound

The tuner and microphone rhythm assessment ask for microphone permission when you choose to start listening. Audio is analysed on your device; these tools do not upload or retain microphone recordings. Optional statistics can include derived tuning/timing results. Stop listening or leave the page to release the microphone. Permission is also controlled in browser settings.

Start with a comfortable volume. Pitch and rhythm estimates depend on the instrument, microphone, room and device latency. They are practice feedback, not calibrated measurements or proof of musical mastery. Stop if playing causes pain; diagrams cannot assess your physical technique. Browser background or lock-screen audio is not guaranteed.

Using and sharing the tools

Use the tools for personal practice and teaching. Share tool links and exported diagrams with attribution to Guitar with Reuben. A shared link may contain musical settings; review it before sharing and avoid adding private information. Do not enter personal information in musical controls. Course purchases, availability and terms are described separately on the teaching website.

Help and report a problem

Try the latest supported browser, check sound volume and microphone permissions, then retry the tool. Tell Reuben the tool name, device/browser, settings, steps and what you expected. Do not send passwords or payment details.

Contact details and messages are used to respond to your enquiry and are not sent to Google Analytics. When the form is available, messages are delivered through Namecheap Private Email to the support inbox. The tools database stores only short-lived, hashed network identifiers and attempt counts to limit spam; it does not store your message. Hourly counters expire and are removed on a subsequent submission. Support emails remain in the support mailbox while needed to handle your request.
