How can I learn all the notes on the guitar fretboard?
Learn the natural notes on one string first, then add the remaining strings gradually. Use octave shapes to transfer each note into new areas of the neck instead of memorising 150 positions separately.
What is the guitar octave rule?
A note commonly repeats two strings higher and two frets along. When the shape crosses the G and B strings, it shifts by one additional fret because of the guitar's tuning.
